Farming Gold in Diablo 3

Over the last few weeks I shared with you a few ways to make gold by farming bosses. Shortly afterwards Blizzard told us that we wouldn’t be farming bosses… right. Next, I wanted to figure out the fastest way I could farm gold without depending on the sale of crafting items. It’s entirely possible that crafting items become so cheap that they are not even worth farming after release. So what’s the fastest way to farm gold in Diablo 3 so far?

The answer might just be to repeatedly run through the Royal Crypts over and over again. You can do this by running to the end of the Skeleton King quest, but not entering the Skeleton King’s room. Grab the waypoint and leave the game. When you enter the game again you’ll be right there at the way point. You can run through the halls breaking pottery, looting corpses, killing skeletons and picking up gold. It takes about 3 and a half minutes to run back to the entrance of the crypts where you can repeat the process by leaving the game and starting it over.

During each run you will find about 550-600 gold, or 165 gold per minute. This is with absolutely no +Gold Find. At 165 gold per minute you’re looking at 10,000 gold an hour. With 300% gold find that’s 30,000 gold an hour, a new record. None of these calculations include the extra gold you will earn by selling the magic items you find throughout.

Here’s a video showing you exactly what I’m talking about:

This is the new record holder for beta gold farming. I have several other ideas I want to check out yet, so make sure you’re subscribed so that you don’t miss them.

  1. Hmm, im not sure if it was like this when you wrote the article, but both goldfind and magucfund increases as you kill enemies in a dungeon, and as it currently is no hardcap, you can get close to infinite goldgain by attacking enemies that gets ressurrected over and over. (It is most likely increasing the find you already have by another percent. i.e. 200% goldfind person will get 2% more per kill, while a guy with 100% will get 1% more per kill)
