Demon Hunter Solo Leveling Build

If you play a Demon Hunter solo after playing a Barbarian or a Monk you’ll be quick to note how much moving around you need to do. Depending on the way you gear your Demon Hunter you’re not really going to want to stand there and allow yourself to be hit (except maybe in Normal difficulty). This means that you’ll almost always be kiting enemies. This build gives you a good balance of damage, mobility, survival and energy regeneration. It’s not exactly a hardcore build but you could possibly use it as a basis for one.

Updated 5/23/2012: Now that I have actually had the time to play the Demon Hunter in the live version of the game I’m going to answer the question what is the best Demon Hunter build? The best build may vary based on whether you’re farming, playing hardcore, leveling, planning to PvP, fighting a certain boss or trying to beat a certain pack of mobs. The build you see below is a core build built to specialize into all of these specializations.
The best build for a Demon Hunter is going to require a careful balance between survival, direct damage and AoE damage. If you’re interested in more Demon Hunter stuff, check out my Demon Hunter Builds.

If you haven’t noticed already, the market for trade goods has already collapsed. I wrote yesterday about how to make gold with subtle essences as their auction house value gets closer and closer to their vendor value. The vendor value of Subtle Essence is 14 gold, Shimmering Essence is 30 gold. Magic items, on the other hand, have somewhat inflated vendor prices considering the low material prices. » Read more…
